Liliana helped us pull off a wedding for about 110 guests from Canada, with the planning handled over WhatsApp, calls, and spreadsheets across different time zones. We had less than six months, but she connected us with a pastry chef, a decorator, and a florist, arranged rooms for our group, and even managed a few surprises we hadn’t expected to work out. The wooden hall and garden at Hanu Moara cu Noroc were beautiful, and our celebration felt just right for the rustic yet elegant setting we wanted in Romania. The food was plentiful and very good, and guests had lots of compliments for the locally made wine. Liliana, the servers, chefs, owner, and whole team made everyone feel royally looked after. The owner also met us, told us about the venue, and showed us around. We stayed another night to enjoy the garden, the area, and a bonfire. My wife and I can’t wait to come back for our fifth anniversary. We couldn’t have imagined a better wedding, and I’d recommend Hanu Moara cu Noroc for weddings of 50 to 600 people, a meal nearby, or a weekend away.

Even with the summer heat outside, it was comfortable on the large terrace. The menu includes Romanian dishes as well as international food, and everything we ate was fresh and delicious. There’s a lot of history tied to the place, best discovered by visiting.

The old water mill setting gives Hanul Moara cu Noroc a lot of charm, and you can sense the history in the building. I had the traditional fisherman’s meal: simple, fresh, and really well done, with vegetables and potatoes that went nicely with the fish. There’s a broad choice of traditional dishes, and the hosts seem ready for all kinds of gatherings. It feels like a little escape to a rustic spot, with an atmosphere that makes the meal memorable. I’ll be back soon to try the Hungarian langoș.

Our server was so welcoming and kind, and the food was delicious. The kataif was my favorite. The place itself is lovely, like stepping into the story of Moara cu Noroc. Definitely worth a visit.
