The fish lake sits right in the middle of the guesthouse grounds, which cover around 7-8 thousand square meters, and you can fish there. The rooms were clean, and the host was warm and welcoming. We also went on several boat trips with his help. You can get there by car, since the road was rebuilt last year, or take the Tulcea-Sulina fast boat. The guesthouse is in the Danube Delta, on the Sulina branch. Its water isn't drinkable, as is common in the delta, but there's a full filtration system that makes it safe for washing and cooking. Many locals, after all, cook with water straight from the Danube. There's also a barbecue and dining space for 14 people. It has all the facilities you'd need. I'd recommend Hunters' Hut for a delta holiday.

If you go, I'd suggest finding someone to take you out by boat while you're there. We went with Danube Delta Tour, and they were kind, stopped along the way to show us birds and plants, and shared real stories about the area. That was just the kind of guide we wanted, and we felt it was well worth choosing him. Plenty of people offer delta trips, but some rush you through and seem keen to make the time pass quickly and take your money. I highly recommend combining a stay at Coliba Vanatorilor with Cristi's boat for a memorable time in the delta. The house feels full of memories. It was designed as the owner's holiday home, and you can see that in the finishes and other amenities. I saw the earlier negative comments too, but they didn't seem very relevant to me. The property is in a quiet part of the Danube Delta, and the owner clearly tries to make it pleasant for visitors. Behind the house there's a lovely lake, and of all the places I've stayed on my several trips to the delta, this one seemed the best kept. There's a separate room for the water filtration system, which uses well water. Not many places in the delta seem to make this effort. The water isn't drinkable, but it is safe for washing. Coliba Vanatorilor can make for a really nice vacation.

I loved having coffee on the bench beside the pond in front of the house. The place has everything you need, and having the owner there made us feel more confident. It's a peaceful spot away from traffic and the everyday rush, where you can feel close to the Delta's wild nature. A lovely place to unwind with people you care about, with a sense of peace, joy and life.
