We love this place even with so much of it sitting unused. The bar, restaurant, and lovely terrace are all closed and empty, which is such a shame given the pleasant atmosphere and the potential here. The bar hasn’t been open the last few times we came, and the last time we found it operating was 2-3 years ago. Breakfast is at Arena Regia, so you have to walk there and back, even though there’s a restaurant at the hotel and another in between, and both are closed. The hotel itself is smaller, quiet, clean, and SO BEAUTIFUL, much better than Arena Regia in the same resort. I always book the Marrakesch suite, it’s mesmerizing. The private beach is clean and quiet, and the whole area feels like an oasis in the desert. For 830 euro for two nights in the Marrakech suite, I’d have liked to enjoy a drink on the terrace with the bar open, and have a Smart TV to watch Netflix. The minibar could use more snacks too. If you get hungry in the middle of the night or before breakfast opens at 8 AM, a chocolate bar and a small bag of peanuts aren’t much to eat. They aren’t free, either.

I stayed here for work, but personally I wouldn’t choose this place. The prices don’t match what’s offered, and it’s a shame because I like the vintage architecture. The hotel just isn’t maintained well enough. The rooms on the first and second floors are large, with balconies and big bathrooms, but they’re damp and have a lot of mold. The armchairs look dirty and feel dirty too. The sea view is blocked by an apartment building built on the beach right in front of the hotel. The attic rooms are small, have no balconies, and are three-star standard. Their bathrooms are small but clean. There are two steps from the entrance into the room, which can be annoying or even dangerous if you stumble to the bathroom at night. The fan heater makes a lot of noise even when switched off, and that bothered me. There’s no lift, which is a real problem with heavy luggage. The floors in the rooms and hall creak loudly, so you can hear every movement in the corridor.

The room wasn’t worth the price at all. The facilities are old, the bed is really uncomfortable, and nobody had cleaned the terrace. At least the room service was very good. The cleaning staff kept replacing the towels and left things as clean as they could, which helped make the stay a little less unpleasant. There was still construction outside, with all the noise that came with it. We won’t be coming back.

There’s construction on the beach right in front of the hotel.
