Belegania Villa

We used Christian’s place as a stop to visit the Transfăgărășan highway, and it worked out perfectly. We stayed in our camper and could use the shower, kitchen, and laundry at the house. There were outdoor games and a firepit, too. Christian was incredibly helpful. We had a great time and can definitely recommend it.

The host felt more like a friend, and we had some great conversations. He was generous with wine in the evening, coffee in the morning, and suggestions for places to visit. We also had everything we needed and then some. The room was spotless, the bed and pillows were really comfortable, and it was quiet enough for us to feel rested. A lovely home-away-from-home stay at Cristian’s b&b. Highly recommend!

I booked this for my parents, and the host immediately scolded them for making the reservation through Expedia. I only found the place there, so guests can’t be expected to know he dislikes that site. We shouldn’t have booked it at all, since we were essentially scammed. The room was clean overall, but the bathroom wasn’t. My parents had to share it with other guests, even though I had booked a “Standard Double or Twin Room, Private Bathroom, Vineyard View.” The listing said it was 150 sq ft and had its own bathroom. The room was clearly smaller, and they were asked to pay extra for a larger room, despite having already paid for one. EDIT after the host’s response: I’ve attached proof showing the booked room type, the £28 price, and that a private bathroom was included. The host’s personal, offensive reply says plenty about how guests are treated when they leave honest feedback.

The house and bedroom are modern and clean, and there’s a shared kitchen plus a big garden with a fireplace and grill. I had a great time with this well-travelled host, and we swapped plenty of stories. Great value. I love the place and the people, and I’ll be back. Keep the Volvo's running!
