Hotel Bavaria Blu

For me, this is the best hotel in Mamaia. The beach is so close, just 10 steps away. There’s a pool, the rooms are nice, the food is good, and the cleaning is done properly.

Our suite was spacious and really comfortable, with a lovely balcony looking out over the pool and sea. We loved the pool, and the hotel’s beachside location is wonderful. I just wish the staff had been friendlier, or friendly at all. The woman at checkout was nice, though.

The biggest problem was the noise. Loud music was playing all over the hotel until 1 or 2 a.m., and on the day I asked about it, it started at 4 a.m. I was told, “We need to attract people!” A four-star hotel also has no fitness space, and many of the facilities feel worn out and need renovation. The private beach was crowded with people selling things and asking for things, and there were cigarette butts all over the sand. The sea stays shallow, no deeper than waist height. Breakfast was okay, but I’d eat lunch and supper somewhere nearby. And don’t get the wine, buzz!!! Never again.

The food was good and the service satisfactory. The hotel hasn’t been renovated, though. The doors are damaged, especially in the bathroom, and some rooms smell unpleasant. The bedsheets were clean, but torn in places and very worn.
