Hotel Sulina International

The boat trips were a highlight, with open waterways, birds everywhere, and sunsets that make the sky look painted. Sulina itself has a quiet, almost timeless feel, colorful houses, friendly locals, and Romanian, Greek, and Lipovan influences. I loved that the beach was natural and uncrowded, and the local restaurants serve fresh fish. Between the old lighthouse and its maritime history, the town has plenty of character. It’s a lovely place to slow down, whether you’re into nature, photography, or just want to breathe. Sulina felt unforgettable.

The location made it easy to reach the beach, shops, restaurants, and beach bars on foot, while still being far enough from the party areas for a quiet night. Hotel Sulina International also had free Wi-Fi, secure parking, and a comfortable bar and lounge. I thought it was good value and would stay again on a trip to the Romanian coast. My room was spacious, modern, and very clean, with a comfortable bed and a sea or lake view depending on the side. Housekeeping kept things spotless during the stay. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and check-in went quickly. Breakfast had lots of tasty choices, from fruit and pastries to hot dishes and Romanian options. The restaurant served local and international food during the day. It seems well suited to couples or families visiting Mamaia.

I was there out of season, so the beach was wonderfully empty and there was lots of room in the parking lot. The double room was very small, but tidy and clean to the standard I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. I left the towels hanging and hadn’t asked for fresh ones, but they changed them anyway. The hallway never smelled like fresh air, maybe because of the humidity. Breakfast was a good continental spread, and the lunch and dinner options were delicious and cheaper than at nearby restaurants.

The restaurant was a strong point, with plenty of tasty options at both breakfast and dinner, and the hotel sits right by the Black Sea beach. It looks good from outside, and inside the dated decor is nice but a bit overdone, making the place feel oppressive. Reception staff were unfriendly, which added to that feeling. Our room was well equipped and very clean, but uncomfortably small. The air conditioner needs cleaning, and the bathroom had a bad smell.
