Casa de la Mara

Irina and Anca took so much pressure off me and my husband while we celebrated our wedding at Casa de la Mara. They kept everything on point, made sure our guests felt welcome and had fun, and helped us when one guest needed medical attention. They even stepped in over the scammer DJ I’d unfortunately crossed paths with. The food, rooms, service and amenities were all amazing, and the way they cared for us and everyone there made it feel like home. I honestly can’t imagine a better place for our wedding. Seeing how hard these wonderful people work, and how far they go for guests, was humbling. I’ll be back to visit. ❤️

We stayed in one of the traditional Maramureș houses, and it felt straight out of a fairy tale. The owners look after their guests themselves, with so much warmth and understanding. The views are wonderful, too. Meals are available at another boarding house they run. Everything we ate was delicious and made with natural ingredients. Such a lovely place to visit! 😍😍😍😍

The rooms were immaculate, with traditional Maramureș decor, and the owners made us feel very welcome. We had a brilliant weekend there with family and friends. In my opinion, it’s the best place in Maramureș. We were all so glad we found it, and we’ll definitely return. 🙏

The food alone made our stay special. Breakfast and dinner were home-cooked, rich and refined, and the owners go out of their way to find the best food and drinks from the region. We were welcomed by a smiling family as soon as we entered the courtyard and felt looked after like kids the whole time. I stayed in a century-old wooden house with antique decorations. Falling asleep surrounded by that comforting wood scent was wonderful, and the rooms are amazing. It’s also right in the middle of the region’s attractions. After a few nights here, five stars felt obvious.
