The road up there was close to unusable, and the visit ended up being a waste of a trip. I drove from Cluj-Napoca on 30 December, only to learn the restaurant was due to open two hours later, so I turned around and went back. I couldn't find that day's schedule online, either on Google or their website. None of the three listed phone numbers answered, despite my trying each one twice at different times. For such a well-known place with such stellar reviews, it was a bad experience, to say the least. Maybe next time, though I'd have a hard time putting myself and my car through that drive again just to come away empty-handed.

The scenery was beautiful, the room was very clean, and the restaurant food was good. Our host was a wonderful lady. The dining room might be due for some renovation.

We were the only guests, so the service felt exclusive. The room was warm, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious and homemade.
