It’s tucked away from the main road, and arriving feels like stepping into an older Romanian countryside. The views are wonderful, and the place is carefully looked after, with very clean rooms and quality touches like Molton Brown shower gel and shampoo. The food is freshly cooked each day using local suppliers, and the drinks selection is well above average. Staff work hard and are very friendly. Prices are good for the value, especially since Fundata has few places to eat. Because it’s remote, call ahead for directions, particularly in winter. There are no TVs in the rooms, which I personally like as it lets you connect with nature. I really recommend it.

We had a lovely group stay for our son’s first birthday. The service was wonderful, and we appreciated the kindness and hospitality. The scenery beneath the Piatra Craiului mountains is marvelous, with delicious food in this rustic, remote spot. The main drawback is the difficult access road if you don’t have a 4×4 car or SUV.

Quiet, with a beautiful view. Really nice, and I’ll come again.

The hosts are welcoming, and the traditional food is very, very good. It’s a special spot in the middle of nature, with long walks to enjoy. You can also visit their woodworker shop and learn to make things from wood or create your own traditional bag.
