Wonderful!

The location is the one real plus: the beach is very close, and so is the lake behind the guesthouse. There were several things that need fixing. The shower stall was too small for an adult, the floor creaked, and the linens and beds seemed to belong to other accommodation units. The curtains also looked like they came from another hotel. Cleanliness, including the cleaning staff's work, needs improvement. Guests shouldn't be asked which room they prefer without considering their needs. I might have used a wheelchair and been unable to manage the attic room. We were also told to put toilet paper with feces in the trash. That's unhygienic and can cause outbreaks, as reported to DSP Constanta.

Our room was large and looked okay, with a lake view and an acceptable, if small, balcony. The only person I can compliment is the cleaning lady, who helped us get at least a bowl to prepare food for the baby. The setting is beautiful, right by the beach with a gorgeous lake view, but the stay was very uncomfortable. The complex had a construction-site atmosphere, with vacuuming starting at 8 in the morning, hammering, and cables being pulled. The staff were extremely unfriendly, especially the administrator, whose comments made us feel like an unwanted nuisance whenever we saw him. The shower door was broken and wouldn't close, the bathroom socket didn't work, and there were insects in the room. There's no room service or minibar, so I wouldn't call it a hotel. There's no kitchen, proper barbecue, dishes, cutlery, or even a coffee machine in the building, so I wouldn't call it a guesthouse either. I've stayed in hostels that were more comfortable and welcoming. We booked a double room with a balcony and sea view on Booking, but were told there was no sea-view room, and no rooms with a lake view or balcony were available. When we said we would pay extra just to get a balcony, a room with both a lake view and balcony suddenly became available. We paid more than the Booking price, and the same administrator kept complaining that our presence was disturbing him.

The location near the beach was great, and the staff were very friendly. Having parking was a real plus. There were a few minor problems that weren't too disruptive, but the room had some small defects. The bathroom door wouldn't shut, the shower door was broken, and the water temperature was hard to keep steady. The sink wouldn't drain at all, so brushing our teeth in the shower was difficult. The courtyard was pretty but hadn't been maintained, towels were changed only every two days, and the refrigerator didn't get cold enough.
