Hotel Doina

If you enjoy fishing, Neptun Lake is nearby and makes for a fun outing. It’s full of swans, other birds, and lots of water lilies. The staff are nice and the rooms are pleasant, but the food isn’t great and the hotel is far from the beach.

I had a pleasant stay, and the front office was quick to help when I needed something. The bathroom really needs renovating, though. So many of the fixtures are rusty that you’re almost afraid to shower.

For a three-star hotel, I think it’s good value. The modern clinic is open to all guests, with doctors on site for free consultations to help guide people toward suitable treatments. Prices are budget friendly, from $8 for a 10-15 min mud or Vichy massage or 20 min plant or sulphur baths, to $20 for physio. The clinic assists guests six days a week and treats a wide range of conditions, so I think it’s worth trying. The adjoining spa also has the usual treatments and packages, from $20 for a 40 min massage to $50 for a 120 min package with aromatherapy, body peeling, and a relaxing massage. I’d head to Olimp beach rather than Neptun. The hotel is on the border between the two resorts, so they’re about equally far away. Neptun has better restaurants and nightlife, though.

It’s a decent enough place to stay, but I think the price is too high for what you get. The rooms are small, and it’s a long way from the beach.
