The food was used...

The staff were kind and helpful, and the hotel itself is fairly new and clean. The room was an okay size, with a shower in the bathroom, a flat-screen TV and a mini fridge, but no air conditioning. In the room I stayed in, the carpet was worn and stained. The food was mediocre, though there was more than enough of it. I understood that the place isn’t open all the time, only for tourist groups. I stayed four nights with a ticket from the Inter Tour agency, including New Year's Eve 2018-2019. Our group of 50 filled the whole hotel. It has three stars, but I think those stars are a bit of a stretch.

The room was okay, but the mattresses were uncomfortable and the pillows very small. At the restaurant, most of the menu was fried food, and it had a strong taste of burnt, unfiltered oil. We ran into the same problem when we tried eating at two other restaurants in town.

It’s a great place to stay in summer or winter, and the Cavnic slope is nearby. The tourist attractions around Maramureș aren’t far either. Rates and service quality are hard to match elsewhere. There’s Wi-Fi, plus a pool and hot tub in summer. The menu has plenty of variety, and the traditional dishes are worth trying, like polenta with cheese and mushrooms.
