Olimp Sea View Apartments

I paid RON 1400 for two nights and got the comfort of a two-star hotel. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, there was a strong sewage smell in the bathroom, and the shower only had cold water. Customer service was poor too. The lock wasn’t working properly, and I waited almost half an hour for staff to come unlock the room. I asked in the morning to have it cleaned properly and was promised someone would fix the problem, but by 12:30 PM nobody had come. A wall socket and a switch didn’t work at all. Awful experience.

The apartment on the 12th floor had a panoramic sea view. Waking up to it each morning was bliss, and we could leave the window open and fall asleep to the sound of the sea. It was nicely furnished, with a king size bed, an extensible sofa in the living room, plush carpets, and an extra-comfy mattress and pillows. There was AC in both rooms. The complex has its own swimming pool, and there’s a convenience store across the street. Entry uses codes, so there are no keys to lose. The lady responsible for the property was quick to answer our questions. I’d highly recommend it.

Good choice if you’re happy with self-service. The apartment was large and nice, with a great view, and I was surprised to find separate bathrooms for each of the two bedrooms. There were no plates or cutlery, though. Each room, the living room and both bedrooms, had its own AC and TV. The mattress and pillows were memory foam. All good overall.

The apartment was clean and spacious, and the building was nice. Most things were automated, and the host left coffee beside the machine, which I really appreciated. The sofa was large, the bed generous, the towels clean, and there was plenty of room. The AC worked well. There were a few details that could be better: the entrance door didn’t close firmly, and the entry hall had a lot of unused space, probably because of the way the building was designed. A light in the hall was unscrewed, which felt like a lack of attention. It would help to have somewhere to leave dishes to dry in the kitchen, and somewhere to dry clothes, especially at the beach. The bathroom door could hit someone on the toilet when opened. The view was to the side, which I expected since there weren’t any photos of it. Entering a code at the building, elevator, and room each time we went up was a bit stressful. An all-access card might be quicker and easier.
