The location was lovely, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. I really enjoyed the food too. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

So friendly and thoughtful! Vasile looks after you and even shares vegetables from his garden. He’s a wonderful host.

At the BUD guesthouse in Oncesti, we found the kind of Romanian family hospitality we’d thought belonged only in stories. The warmth and culture here felt like something out of a book, except it was all real. We’ve stayed in many places at home and abroad, and words like “impressive” and “exceptional” come closer to describing this than simply calling it positive.

The rooms were spacious and clean, with dreamlike views, and the prices were unbeatable. The hosts were cheerful and so welcoming from the moment we arrived. They even lent us traditional costumes for photos, and the lady made pancakes that were a 10 out of 10. I’ve never eaten better. I recommend this place with all my heart, and we want to come back as often as we can.
