Hotel Maxim

The only snag was parking. The underground garage was so tight that our car got scratched while we were trying to get in, but we eventually found a good spot in front of the hotel. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it. The elegant hotel was clean, the rooms comfortable, and breakfast delicious with a wide choice. The staff were incredibly kind and helped us arrange activities. We really enjoyed the pool, where the water was perfectly warm. It’s also in a great spot, just a 10-minute walk from the city center.

The breakfast was disappointing because the food wasn’t stored properly. Mayonnaise based items were left in the sun in a room without AC. The parking spaces were also very tight and too few, making it hard to get in and out. During our stay at the end of June, Hotel Maxim had an AC problem but only told us when we arrived. For a 4-star hotel in the center of a fairly large city to have no working AC in summer and no other option is unimaginable.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the food itself was decent, but inconsistent menu details and the service took away from the experience. We visited Hotel Maxim in Oradea for a birthday meal. At the start, the server told us several items were unavailable, including the strawberry and pineapple lemonades and a few other drinks. She couldn’t tell me what kind of cheese was used in one of the pasta dishes either. The banana split caused the most frustration. The menu said it came with ice cream, but the server insisted it didn’t. When it arrived with ice cream, she said the menu “must’ve changed today,” which didn’t give me much confidence. The seafood pasta was described as carbonara on the menu, but came with tomatoes, unlike what you’d expect from a traditional carbonara. 3 out of 5.

Our guests are always comfortable at HOTEL MAXIM in Oradea and often want to return. We’re grateful to work with partners who take this much care. We’ve never run into any problems and are happy to recommend the hotel.
