Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Airport

The location works very well for both the airport and Therme spa, and an Uber into the city costs around £10. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, and breakfast has a great selection. Food and drinks are expensive, even compared with UK prices, though this is an airport hotel. Our minimalist room was fine and had plenty of space. The bathroom was wheelchair accessible but needed a little attention. The rest of the hotel was very good, and I’d stay again.

The room was spacious and well equipped, and the hotel is in a fantastic spot, just a few minutes’ walk from the departure terminal and a quick bus ride from Therme. Breakfast had lots of high-quality choices. I’ve never had such a pleasant check-in. The friendly, professional agent welcomed me, thanked me for my loyalty, scanned my passport, checked me in, explained breakfast and evening dining options, took payment, and pointed me in the right direction, all in less than a minute.

Christina and Marius made us feel at home in Romania right from the start. They were cheerful, helpful, and patiently answered all our questions, even the slightly unnecessary ones 😄. It was the kind of welcome you hope for at a hotel. 10/10, I’d happily ask them for directions again. Highly recommended!

The location is handy for the airport, and the room was clean and nice. One bedside light didn’t work, and the other only came on when the bathroom light was on, which was odd. Service really brought the stay down. A young man welcomed us when we arrived and was lovely, but on our last day the three women at reception didn’t greet us or say goodbye or thank you. They seemed more interested in their phones and taking their time going outside for a cigarette. When we asked for a bigger bin for our lunch packaging, one just shrugged and said the only option was the tiny recycling bins in the hallway. We took the rubbish away and threw it out by the airport. We definitely didn’t feel welcome or valued.
