The woman at the front desk was delightful and cheerful. There were plenty of towels, blankets and toiletries, plus a nice terrace out back with a spacious area around it. The place was clean, well looked after and had lots of parking. A great spot for an overnight stay.

Our cat has travelled with us to many places around the country without causing any trouble, but the guesthouse wouldn't accommodate us with the cat. That was despite the booking page saying on 07/28/2024, “Pets are accepted upon request. Fees may apply.” The Cornelius Guesthouse replied at 20:40 on 07/29/2024: “Hello! All triple rooms have a balcony with table and chairs, large refrigerator, kettle. We no longer have a restaurant, we only serve breakfast. We are pleased to have you as a guest, but unfortunately we do not accept cats.” People can judge that attitude as they like. Still, tourism operators complain that Romanians choose foreign holidays. In Austria, I visited a centuries-old, unique castle where pets could come in, as long as they were carried in your arms, a basket or a bag and couldn't walk. Yes, Austria, not Romania.
