Vigo Hotel

The rooms are nicely done in a somewhat retro style, and the location is good. Service and food were quite good too, with friendly, helpful staff.

The room was basic and filthy, and the bathroom was dirty. The toilet was broken in every way, and the hairdryer didn't look safe to use. The blond, chubby receptionist was a phenomenon of her own, lazy and arrogant. Not a place to stay.

We had the superior attic room with the massage bathtub. It looked nice and was clean, but there was an ancient towel left in a drawer. The switches didn't work, so we had to open the roof windows manually. The minibar was empty, and there was no way to make tea or coffee, something even lower-tier hotels usually offer. During a thunderstorm, water came into the room in three different places, and we spent time and towels trying to keep it dry. The bath water looked brown, and insects were crawling in the tub each morning. At breakfast, hot food wasn't kept on a heater, so it was cold and chewy even when we arrived right after service began. Cereal milk was only available if requested. The overall selection was better than at other hotels we'd seen, but the place needs maintenance and you'd probably be better off spending your money elsewhere.

I had a lot of problems organizing a training classroom here, from getting a quote to receiving the final invoice. They wouldn't answer the phone or reply to emails. The first day was a disaster: I arrived early in the morning and the conference room wasn't set up. For the coffee break, they brought just 18 cups and no thermos, so people couldn't pour themselves warmer coffee when they wanted. At lunch there was no waitress, just the front desk guy serving food, and he didn't have experience and mixed a lot of things up. It improved after I called the manager to complain. Parking is a problem too. I really don't recommend this hotel.
