The only dish I really enjoyed was the chestnut puree, though it was a little sweeter than I prefer. The fish was far too salty inside, and the first course didn't live up to the standard suggested by the good reviews. We left the "somloi" dessert on the plate too. I wish I could give more stars.

There's a lovely yard beside a river, and the location is convenient, about a five-minute walk to Salina Praid. The bathroom had a slightly odd smell. Csatari is crowded, and although we'd paid to stay there, nobody told us we'd need a restaurant reservation to eat. The staff were OK but seemed a bit anxious, mostly because their English, and even Romanian, wasn't very good.

We only stayed one night, but felt welcome in a cosy, no-fuss way. The people were friendly and helpful, the food was great, and we enjoyed the palinka and afinata 🙂

The turkey steak was very good, and the lunch menu offers good value for the price. I'd recommend eating here during a stay in Praid.

The food was good, though on two occasions the waiters either forgot my tea or left us without tissues.
