Hotel Bulevard Predeal

The place felt more like a 2-star hotel than a 3-star one. Don’t expect much quality. Our AC didn’t work, and some other guests had no AC at all and had to use a heater. The shower was rusty and leaked nonstop. A towel underneath still wasn’t enough to catch the dripping water. We asked for the room to be cleaned, but they didn’t vacuum or replace the stained sheets, even though we specifically asked. They also put the towels back after we’d left them on the floor. As far as I could tell, they brought new shampoo, made the beds, and folded the used towels. That doesn’t feel like room cleaning to me.

There was no water in the hotel during our one-night booking, so we couldn’t shower. We went to the swimming pool, and the receptionist showed us the way without mentioning the water problem. We couldn’t shower afterward either. I understand these things can happen, but the hotel staff should try to solve the issue or find another option. Instead, we paid, waited for it to be fixed, and left without water, just as we’d arrived.

The rooms were in poor shape, and the bathroom smelled moldy. At night, if your room faces the street, you hear every passing car. We had to cut our stay short because we couldn’t get any rest. The receptionist refused to refund the remaining four days we’d paid for. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel even if it were the last safe place on earth.

The room price felt high for what we got, and the stay wasn’t the relaxing break we’d hoped for. Our ground-floor window faced a fence, with morning noise outside. The room was so cramped we could barely fit our luggage, and the double bed was two singles pushed together under one shared mattress. The bathroom was tiny, and the toiletries smelled bad. It was cold in the room even though the radiator felt hot. Getting in with the card key was awkward, too. We chose this hotel for two nights because the reviews mentioned a jacuzzi, sauna and massage. The jacuzzi was small and the water wasn’t very hot; its room clock didn’t work. The sauna wasn’t ready when we arrived. We’d been told both facilities were included, but could use them only if they weren’t occupied. The reception staff weren’t very friendly. There were some good parts: the restaurant food, especially the lava cake, and the breakfast had lots of choices. Parking in front was handy, and the massage was good, 10€ for 45 minutes. Still, we won’t be back.
