Hotel Rogge

The location is good, but the hotel and its service have serious quality problems. Our room was old, the bathroom outdated, and the drainage was bad. I took pictures as proof. Showering meant standing in the dirty water left in the cabin, and the sink wouldn’t drain either, which was unpleasant when brushing my teeth. The rooms also lack sound insulation, so we could hear TVs and people chatting from other rooms. The staff weren’t very friendly. Mrs. Rogge, the hotel owner, came across as superior and unwilling to accept friendly suggestions or feedback. It was an extremely negative experience, and I won’t stay there again. There are some very elegant, great Airbnb places in this city.

The mattress was extremely old, soft, and uncomfortable. The rooms looked and smelled old, and everything was dusty and stained. The hotel is by a major junction and close to the train tracks, and the windows were so poor that it felt like sleeping out on the street. Worst hotel experience ever.

The bed was clean, and it wasn’t cold, but the price didn’t match the service. The bathroom sink drain was broken, and the tissue box was empty. Prices on the website were different and hadn’t been updated for two years. The lifts weren’t working, so staff carried room service up the stairs. At reception, they rudely asked whether I wanted front or back, without explaining that they meant the view. The entrance looked closed for renovations, and there were no signs to guide visitors, so I had to ask the builders. This place used to be considered good, but today it’s a big disappointment.

The restaurant’s menu was small, but the food was delicious and the portions were a good size. You could eat on the terrace or in your room. The hotel is near the city center, with a large free parking area, and the staff were friendly. Our room was neat and clean, and they cleaned it every day. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
