Breakfast was made up entirely of local, healthy dishes, and the hosts even cooked us dinner despite not usually offering it. That's helpful in Saschiz, where dining choices are limited: there's just one restaurant in the center, and it sometimes closes for weddings or baptisms. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and did everything we asked. It's a tiny guesthouse with just two rooms for rent, one triple and one double, right on the national road. The place was spotless, and road noise didn't bother us. We'll definitely return.

At 10 pm, the doors were locked and all the lights were off, and we couldn't use the terrace or smoking area at night. Then at 10:30 the owner knocked and told us to turn down music from a laptop set to 70. It felt like being on a fourth-grade school trip, with the teacher coming to put everyone to bed at 11. Don't come with your girlfriends if you want to talk at anything above a whisper.

We spent a week here in August and had a unique, unforgettable stay with my family. The hosts were welcoming, and the place was pleasant and clean. It's a modest little house, with simple people who have big hearts. The guesthouse is right by the main road, which was essential for us as travelers passing through.
