We drove 470 km after making a reservation, only to be told on arrival at 8 pm that although they had our reservation, they had no room for us. They’d known this since the morning, when we confirmed our arrival time, but waited until we got there to say so. The service and management fell far short of what you’d expect from a hospitality business.

Our room was spacious and very clean, with a beautiful view, and the place itself was lovely. The owners didn’t seem very welcoming, though we may have caught them off guard because there appeared to be an issue with our reservation.

The hosts were so attentive that we felt right at home. We stayed two nights, and breakfast was great: homemade salami and pastrami, tomatoes and peppers from the garden, plus fresh milk from their cows. The rooms were large and spotless with balconies, and the bathroom and towels were tidy too. There’s plenty of green space, an outdoor terrace and two small lakes. Fishing is allowed, but it’s catch and release. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

A lovely place to relax, with fresh air, a great view and a setting that’s great for kids. The rooms were really nice and clean, and the staff were very kind.
