Hotel Cleopatra

It was hard to find parking, and only one of our two rooms had a safe, which didn’t work. The food wasn’t great but wasn’t too bad either, with a lot of fried stuff. I saw people putting babies directly on restaurant tables where the food and cutlery are supposed to go, rather than using baby chairs, so I don’t feel good about the overall hygiene. Guests also carry buffet food and drinks around, leaving mess on the stairs and in the elevators, and the staff doesn’t seem to care. The restaurant has a sign requiring decent attire, no swimsuits, bikinis, or shorts without a T-shirt, but about a third of the guests seem not to read it and staff don’t care. The rooms smelled of mold, the walls were dirty, and they hadn’t even wiped the dust before we arrived. The showers were rusty, and one room’s shower floor wasn’t installed properly, so water leaked all over the bathroom. I don’t know how the authorities rated it 4 stars. Until the mold, rust, and cleaning problems are fixed, it should be closed. If those issues are handled and staff are better trained, maybe it would deserve 3 stars. The only reason a sane person might come here is to be a Commissar from “Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor” and close the filthy place.

The hotel, pool, restaurant, beach, and secure parking were all very nice. Saturn resort is clean too, and its infrastructure is continually developing.

It’s an old socialist-era hotel with a few updates, now trying to cater to all-inclusive guests. The prices are much higher than what you’d pay for the equivalent in Bulgaria.

There was nowhere to park at any time, and the food was very mediocre. The room felt old and run-down, while the bathroom was a complete mess: turning on the shower sent water leaking everywhere. Really disappointing for a four-star place.
