The rooms were unbearably hot, with no air conditioning, and the owner refused to refund us for the room we never got. I had booked three, but when we arrived they said one was no longer available, and he wanted payment before we even stayed. There was no key for the main entrance, so each time we returned we had to ring for the owner. If he showed up later, he treated us badly. A terrible stay, and unbelievably careless.

The owners were friendly and the price was reasonable, but at 37 degrees the lack of air conditioning was hard to get past. We couldn't even leave the window open at night because of the mosquitoes, or maybe because the windows were missing parts. Such a shame after all the work and investment.

At 150 lei a night for two, the room was in a dreadful state. I stayed two nights at the "bătrânul comunist". The wooden windows did nothing to block the noise, so dogs barking and all the outside racket went on through the night. The wooden beds creaked at every joint, the sheets were yellowed, and the faded blue towels were rough. You have to tell him ahead of time if you'll be late, since he locks the gate at 11 p.m. You only get a key to your room, not the gate, so otherwise you'd be left outside. Checkout at 10 a.m. is non-negotiable. He takes your money first and only then shows you the room. I'm never staying there again. I've been to Sebiș since and found a nearly new hotel that had only been built a few months earlier. It included breakfast and cost 160 lei a night for two. I won't name it, so nobody thinks I'm advertising for them.

The owners were honest, decent people, and the food was a real highlight. I stayed in a room for five nights, from 03 / 07 to August 2015, and everything was fine. Many thanks for the breakfast and dinner, especially the excellent cooking, and for the boiled corn. Bravo to them, and here's hoping we only hear good things. Today, 10-08-2015.
