Casa Saseasca

I loved staying at Casa Saseasca, with its spot right in the middle of the Citadel. Ana, the owner, was extremely kind and friendly, and Alexandra was attentive and very helpful. Sighișoara was my favorite town in Romania, and I’d recommend this Inn to anyone.

The bean soup in pita was awful, the worst I’ve had, even though it’s something we eat all the time. It shouldn’t be sour. It’s a common recipe, and I’m sure the restaurant could make it better.

The guest house is great value, with cozy, clean rooms, helpful staff and a location that couldn’t be better. You can drive up to the gate to load or unload your luggage if you show your reservation to the citadel guard, but you have to park outside the citadel during your stay. We ate elsewhere, so I can’t comment on the food. I do wish they served breakfast.

The rooms were extremely clean, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. They gave us a room for three at the price of two, and were upfront about noise and heat on each of the three floors, which helped us choose. The rooms have mini-bars and high ceilings that suit the traditional house style. The furniture’s decorated with traditional Hungarian patterns, which was the most interesting detail to me. There’s also a terrace where they serve drinks, and I believe breakfast is available in the morning. It’s very good value and puts you right in the heart of Sighisoara Citadel. Highly recommend.
