Mercure Sighisoara Binderbubi - Hotel & Spa

The hotel has a lot of charm and character, and its rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, making it a nice place to unwind after exploring the city. It's right in the heart of Sighișoara, and from the moment you arrive the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. It captures the city's magic and left me wanting to return.

The room was spacious and the location was good, but the breakfast issue spoiled the stay. We booked three rooms through hotels.com, and our confirmation clearly said breakfast was included for all of them. At check-in, reception said it was included for only one room. They didn't even look at our booking and rudely insisted we pay for breakfast again. It wasn't much money, but they even told us, “Breakfast Included doesn’t mean it’s free,” which sounded ridiculous. The hotels.com staff couldn't resolve it and offered a refund instead. The hotel's handling of the situation was shockingly amateurish and showed very poor customer management.

The location is quite good, but our stay was very disappointing. We'd paid in advance for the hotel with spa access included, only to be told on arrival that the spa wasn't available. The receptionist gave us that news with very little kindness. Our supposedly five-star room also had a dirty carpet, and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. I don't think the hotel deserves five stars, three at most, or even less.

The breakfast was average quality, though there was plenty to pick from: different juices and hot drinks, two coffee machines, breads, little croissants, cakes, yogurt, cereals, fruits, omelette, eggs, and different sorts of cheese and animals. It cost 59 lei if it wasn't included with the room. I paid for it and was glad I did, since I had a good breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room. I also spent a couple of hours in the comfortable lobby during the day, where there were plugs and light. I didn't get to use the spa, though I would have if I'd had time. My room had everything I needed: a kettle with tea and coffee, a large bed, lots of space, lovely decor, and a comfortable, pleasant bathroom. It was very spacious and beautiful, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I arrived a little after midnight after warning them my train might be late, and someone was there to welcome me. After all those hours on the train, finding that lovely room was such a relief. This was my favorite hotel in Romania, and one of the cheapest rooms I had too, incredible value for money. I loved it and was sad to leave. The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the historic center, and since Sighisoara is small, everything is easy to reach on foot. The location was ideal, and I had a calm, relaxing stay. I'd come back without hesitation.
