Pension am Schneiderturm

The breakfast is superb, with five kinds of honey, homemade bread, lots of cheese, fruit, and meat. You can see how much heart the owner puts into it, and that personal touch shows up everywhere, from the welcome gift and drink to the tourist types you get. The pension has free parking and a lovely location in the old centre. The rooms are small, but suit the setting beside the tower and city wall. Rooms not directly next to the wall can get a bit hot; the others benefit from this "natural air condition".

The owner welcomed us with a shot of traditional Romanian liquor and helped us find parking. He also recommended top sightseeing spots and real local restaurants. The rooms were well worth the rate, and many attractions are within walking distance. Definitely recommend!

Our room was unusual in the best way, with windows that were part of the fortress wall. The owner was an amazing host and added little touches that made the stay very comfortable and the atmosphere friendly. Breakfast was really good too, with different kinds of honey, cheese, and fruit. I have only good things to say about this place.

The welcome was very friendly, with a glass of tsuica and coffee, and the owner, Sorin, was extremely helpful and kind. He speaks fluent English and German, has Sighisoara maps, and can call for a taxi or check bus timetables. My single room was small but nice, with a private bathroom, desk, tv, and hairdryer. There was a noisy big dog nearby. The breakfast buffet was very good, with music and all kinds of specialities: 15 kinds of local cheese, self-produced blueberry yoghurt, elderflower lemonade, applejuice from the orchard of Prince Charles in Malankrov, self-baked bread, and fresh fruit. Probably the best place to stay in Sighisoara.
