Villa Castelul Maria

The garden and castle are enchanting, and the whole place feels carefully thought through. What stayed with me most was the owners’ kindness. One morning, the lady of the house told us she takes off her glasses to mow the lawn so she won’t see the wildflowers clearly and cut them. Such a small, thoughtful example of the care you feel throughout the place.

The fine dining and romantic setting have a quiet, subtle artistry to them. We left feeling spoiled by the beauty, kindness, and understanding we were shown, and we’re deeply grateful for our time there. It’s a gem for anyone who appreciates detail, silence, nature, or a slower pace of life.

The staff were the best we’ve ever had at a hotel, doing everything they could to make us comfortable. The dinner was delicious, and our spacious room had a luxurious feel amid the antique surroundings. A fabulous place, and one we’d recommend to everyone.

The decor and surroundings were spectacular, which is why I gave it two stars. The service was really disappointing: we sat for 20 minutes without anyone noticing us, while at least three other tables were served first. When the waitress finally came over at 13:00, she said the kitchen wasn’t taking any orders. I hope other people don’t have the same experience.
