Hotel Excelsior Boutique

We’ve been coming back to Excelsior for a few years now. The central location is handy, yet the atmosphere is quiet, and the Boutique Hotel feels like home to us. The staff are attentive, the welcome is always warm, and the service stands out. Our rooms have been clean and comfortable every time. Breakfast is included, though it’s served at the lovely Caraiman hotel, a five-minute walk away. The food is fresh and delicious, with plenty of locally sourced items and things made in the hotel’s kitchen. The care and quality make this feel like a five-star experience. We really appreciate it and highly recommend the place.

Way too expensive for such a tiny room. There isn’t even a small table for a laptop, and with no AC in 2024 it was already disappointing. Don’t bring a trolley bag if you come, there’s barely room to move around it. And there’s no view at all.

A lovely, cozy place right in the town center, with rooms that are clean and spacious. Since it’s a boutique hotel, breakfast and lunch or dinner are at the nearby partner hotels, Caraiman and Palace. That worked out perfectly fine, as they’re close by and the walk between them is really enjoyable.

The rooms feel new and have a nice modern look. I think 108 is a standard double, but it’s a little bigger than some: two windows, a proper king bed, and an enclosed shower rather than a tub. There’s room for your things, though some hooks would help. Reception can provide a kettle if you ask. A few things bothered me: the curtains let in too much light, the toiletries could use an upgrade, and the hallway fragrance machine is much too strong. I really didn’t like that smell.
