HOTEL REGAL 1880 - Boutique Hotel Sinaia

We stayed in a mansard room and found it decent value for money. The hotel sits inside a small park, with a warm, cozy feel, tasteful decorations, vintage furniture, and a clean smell throughout. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only things that bothered us were the awkward showering under the low attic roof, which took a bit of acrobatics, and the odd combination of a soft mattress with a hard pillow. Otherwise, no complaints.

Our room faced the park, and the view was amazing. Inside, it was just right, with beautiful vintage furniture and spot-on cleanliness. The location is exceptional, right in the park and within walking distance of tourist attractions and restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel for a great stay.

We first found Regal after trying several other hotels in Sinaia, and it's now our go-to. We've stayed several times, with and without the kids, and tried a few first-floor rooms. The old-fashioned style and huge rooms make it feel relaxing rather than like a typical hotel. For us, the location works perfectly: close to the center and park, away from steep uphill walks with the kids, and quieter than the main street. We chose it partly because of the recent bear issues farther up toward the forest. The Regal is on a side street, and our park-facing rooms have always been completely silent. Just know there isn't a restaurant or breakfast in the building. You cross the park to the partner hotel, about a two-minute walk. Breakfast there is a typical Romanian standard breakfast, pretty average but fine. We usually pay around 5e per person extra when booking directly through the Regal website, while the other booking option only let us book without breakfast for reasons we don't know. For us, including it is an easy choice. There's no parking right at the hotel, but plenty of affordable street parking nearby. Once we even managed to park at the partner hotel. Just ask nicely.
