Lovely balcony, clean room, and friendly people.

It’s around 15 minutes at most from the centre, and there’s parking in front of the guesthouse. Our host was welcoming, the rooms were clean, and we could use the kitchen and dining spaces indoors and on the terrace. I’d recommend it if you’re after a guesthouse rather than a hotel.

The room stayed cool even without air conditioning, and the evenings had that refreshing local chill. It’s a quiet, almost storybook setting, with the forest and the sound of the Stana de Vale stream nearby. Ursu Lake is within reach if you take a few shortcuts. At the Praid salt pan we enjoyed the calm, the cool air, and the medical gymnastics. There’s also a restaurant in the salt pan, alongside bars where you can get coffee, tea, or juice. Bears are around, but I hadn’t heard of them being aggressive, and we didn’t see any. I’d come back in four months to enjoy the snow as well.

Sovata is a lovely resort, and it felt cleaner than many crowded cities. Our hosts were a lovely family who clearly know tourism. The villa is clean throughout, with care for the details and good taste. I recommend this place sincerely.
