Hotel Iadolina

The road from the village entrance to the hotel was awful, and the room had no blinds, so daylight would wake you around 4 or 5 in the morning. I barely slept anyway: three dogs barked through the night, and with the windows letting in so much sound, it felt like they were inside the room. The staff seemed angry most of the time, especially the older woman serving food. A lot in the room was broken. The fridge door was hanging loose and nearly came off, and although it ran, it didn't cool. The mirror was damaged, paint was peeling in places, and the TV had no signal. It was the only place in the area with a room available, but I wish I'd stayed somewhere else, even if that meant an hour's drive. Never again.

The setting is quiet and wild, surrounded by nature, and the rooms were decent, clean, and roomy. The furniture is old, though. Staff were the big problem: they smoked inside the hotel, and breakfast and lunch service was awful. For food, choose something they can make fresh rather than something defrosted.

The location is amazing, and the staff were sort of friendly. The rooms, though, were filthy and full of old junk. The beds slid around, towels were stained, and the bathroom was dirty. The shower leaked, with rust and mold all over. The food seemed really unhygienic, though it was okay to eat. Plates and utensils were dirty, and there was hair in the food. Wouldn't recommend it.

The room was cold when we arrived. We brought a small radiator in from the corridor, but as soon as we plugged it in, smoke came from the socket. The receptionist wouldn't replace it, so we were left in a cold room and came down with the flu soon after the trip. Breakfast was very basic. There was no water included, coffee cost extra, and there wasn't any fruit or pastry. Even so, the price was like you'd pay at one of the best mountain resort hotels. It's a disgrace.
