We had the trout fingers with garlic sauce and they were really delicious. The trout is consistently fresh, and you can also buy it to take away. The restaurant food is pretty good; I've been here several times. We shared the two papanași with raspberry jam for dessert, and the portions worked easily for two. Review from early August 2025. There's room for more than 25 cars in the courtyard parking area.
The rooms are dated and could use an update, but we still had a nice stay and I’d recommend this quiet corner of Romania. The cafe serves excellent fresh fish, and take care with the papanași: two pieces are enough for two people. We ordered two portions and only managed half. The setting is lovely, surrounded by forest and away from traffic and streets.
We came just for the trout, not to stay overnight. It was very tasty, and the platter for two is a good choice because you get a nice mix of fresh trout. We'd definitely return.
We didn't stay at the hotel, so this is just about the restaurant. It looks a little old, but don't let that put you off. The fish tastes fresh, with seasoning that's spot on and well balanced. They raise the trout in very clean water, and you can taste that. Nice work. Go for the trout.
Service was quick, which you don't usually get at other Romanian restaurants. They were happy to split the kids' meal between two plates, and we sat in the pleasantly shaded garden. The local grilled trout with mashed potatoes and garlic was delicious. We finished with blueberry doughnuts. I worried they'd be too sweet, but they were just right, really lovely.
