Hotel Imperium

Traffic noise from the nearby road made it hard to get any peace, and mosquitoes disturbed our sleep. Water leaking from under the bathtub was another concern. Our room also felt like a sauna, with no proper way to control the temperature, and it was dusty, with some questionable spots that didn't feel clean. From the moment we entered, the worn, outdated furniture made the room feel neglected and below what we'd expect from a supposed four star hotel. The reservation got muddled, too, and dealing with the receptionist was frustrating and stressful. Taken together, the room condition, cleanliness, booking confusion, insects, leak and noise made for a disappointing stay. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable visit. Management needs to address these problems to meet the hotel's claimed rating.

The food was genuinely tasty, and the waiters were amazing. They joked with us, explained the dishes and drinks, and gave good suggestions. We went back three or four times mainly for them and the food. The rooms are old and could use better furniture and cleaning. The restaurant also stopped serving many items after 9:30 pm, even though it closes at 11.

The room had several problems during our two-night summer stay. The shower cabin's tub was broken, so water spread across the floor, and there were cockroaches in the bathroom. The air conditioner only blew air without cooling, and we had no hot water for a day. The whole hotel had just one iron, which seems inadequate for a four-star place. What made it worse was that the staff didn't seem to care or try to fix anything.

The restaurant served good food, parking was spacious, and the service was good. Our rooms were large and comfortable, though the hotel felt dated. The room temperature was almost too high, so we had to open the windows every few hours. My room had no internet connection, which was a big drawback for me. Breakfast also cost more than the prices shown on Booking and the hotel's website. I'll remember it as the hot-room hotel.
