Casa David

Adi was a wonderful host and guide on the trips he organizes along different channels of Danube river. He and Geanina were so friendly that I felt like I’d known them forever. Geanina’s meals were the best, and I had the most delicious fish I’ve ever eaten. You can see how much attention to detail she puts into it. At Casa David the rooms are simple and clean, but comfortable, and I slept really well. Amazing place and hosts, I highly recommend it!

The room was nice and clean, and the hosts were excellent. The local fish meals were great.

The owners were the highlight for me. They’re special, attentive people, the kind you rarely meet nowadays. The lady made breakfast and fish dishes on request, and the gentleman was very kind and patient on the boat trips he took in the Delta. My room was spacious, with a comfortable bed for a family and a private bathroom. Towels, paper, and similar things can be changed on request. The house was clean and good value for the price, about a 20-minute walk or 4 minutes by taxi from Sulina beach, and around a 5-minute walk from the cliff of Sulina. It’s a lovely holiday spot where you can combine the Danube Delta with the beach, which is beautifully arranged and less crowded than the seaside resorts.

We rented all the rooms hoping for privacy, but the owner kept watching us from behind the window and said we could only use the terrace until 11 pm. On the first evening he turned off the terrace TV because it was noisy. He did let us use the “living room,” which was really an improvised hall with two sofas and a refrigerator. I only noticed the terrace schedule poster the next day. The rooms were clean when we arrived, but had a strong smell, so he closed it. During our three-day stay, nobody changed our towels or took out the trash. The wooden stairs are right near the room and creak terribly, and the walls are so thin we heard every movement in the other rooms. I’ve added two supporting photos. Don’t be taken in by the high review score if you’re thinking of staying here. It deserves only one star.
