I really wouldn't recommend eating at this restaurant. There seems to be very little effort put into the food: frozen or canned items, and stale bread, to put it mildly.

The location was great, but the service was really poor. We were told off for no good reason, dinner wasn't great, and reception made us feel as if they were doing us a favor by renting us a room. The rooms themselves were average.

We had a pleasant stay and would definitely come back. The hotel is one of the best around, though good rather than extraordinary. Our room was spacious and clean, with a balcony and chairs, and faced away from the river. There was a bar right below the window, but its music was good, so we didn't mind. We arrived during a storm and the TV wasn't working; we never tried it again later. Breakfast was quite generous, with several kinds of cheese, a fair amount of vegetables, and eggs prepared at least three ways, though some local produce was missing. On rainy days, you can sit on the terrace with a drink or play billiards at reception. Recommended.

The view over the Sulina canal is the one real highlight, and Sulina itself is an unpolished gem. Inside, the rooms are modern and fairly clean, though our sheets were stained and we had to ask for a change. The hotel seems badly understaffed, with no working restaurant kitchen and breakfast not included. The staff who were there didn't seem capable of handling basic things. Each evening the entrance doors are shut, and you can't use your room key to get through. You have to wait for the front desk to wake up and let you out, or back in if you've been out in town. One night we stood outside for 15 minutes before the receptionist let us in, while several tourists were stuck inside waiting to leave. Absolutely disgraceful.

The room itself was nice and spacious, with a comfortable bed, balcony, fridge, AC, flyscreens, and a clean bathroom. We paid 10 lei extra for the good view. One towel had pubic hair on it, so I'm not sure it had been washed, and the shower doors were broken. There's also a free pool table in the lobby. Breakfast came with our double room for three nights, which cost 1020 lei in total. It was the same spread each day: eggs, bacon, wheat bread, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, cheese, ham, milk, coffee, juice, water, and cheap chocolate flakes. Most of it was pretty tasteless, especially the bread and vegetables. If you're gluten or lactose intolerant, or vegan, there wasn't much to suit you or fill you up. We'd read on the website that you could book breakfast alone or breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but apparently the hotel has no kitchen and only breakfast is available. When we asked about the difference, they just repeated that there was no kitchen. Getting the room was confusing too. We arrived without a reservation, and the receptionist said there were no rooms without checking. We sat outside looking for another hotel, then about ten minutes later a different guy came out and said they did have a room. It's a bit far from the ferries and beach, though there is a bus.
