The service was very nice, and the food was good. There’s a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and garden. It’s near the town center, but still quiet, with clean, spacious rooms.

On my first trip to Romania, the polite, helpful staff and spacious, comfortable rooms made a great impression. Our room didn’t have a smart TV, so I asked whether we’d missed something. They switched us to another room straight away, free of charge, without any fuss. I couldn’t recommend a nicer place for a first visit here.

The octopus I ordered was cooked perfectly, which helped make up for a slow start. We waited about 30 minutes before anyone took our order and eventually picked up the menus ourselves. With better service, it would have been a great meal.

The food was very good, and I strongly recommend it. But when we had lunch on a very hot day, the restaurant’s AC was turned off. I asked if it was broken and was told it was simply off. I’d rather eat somewhere cool than sweat over my meal, so I’ll go back in winter but not in summer. I prefer restaurants that use AC when it’s hot outside.

For a stay in Târgu Jiu, this is a very nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. It’s not very expensive either. Highly recommended!
