Pensiunea Muresul

I liked the thoughtful little touches, and the hotel was cute for the price. It’s also a reasonable distance from the city centre. I’m not sure the tap water in the room was safe to drink. I couldn’t confirm it or find any information, but I came down with a stomach bug the next day. I had been cautious and drank it anyway, so that was my own fault. Bring your own water to avoid the stomach ache.

This is our third time staying here, and it’s still great value. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and they serve good coffee for free in the mornings. The location works well for us, close to family and the Weekend Area, with the city centre not too far away.

The location was the only thing I really appreciated, since it was near the festival we went to every day. We were seven friends and paid for a room with air conditioning, but our room had none and stayed hot all day. The sheets were stained and dirty from our first day, and the towels were dirty too. I saw staff washing them at 30-40 degrees, not 60 or higher. The kitchen was very unclean, and the stained tablecloth was never washed while we were there. The glasses still had food on them, and I saw staff cleaning them with a very worn sponge. When we said the dishwasher liquid had run out, we were told to go downstairs and get more ourselves.

I stayed here a couple of years ago. I remember there being no parking, lots of stairs to reach the rooms, and dated common areas. From the recent reviews, it sounds like not much has changed. Still, it’s a budget accommodation option.
