Each of ATRA’s 10 spacious rooms (nine of 19-23m2 and the Ivory superior room of 42 m2)are flooded with light, revealing the spectacle of nature seen through the wall-to-wall windows. The glass door leads to your very own terrace, straight onto a meadow from where you can admire the majestic, forested mountains flanking the lake.

The restaurant team was great and the food was excellent, but the place needs much better management and communication. We asked to speak with the manager to give honest feedback, and nobody showed up. The location is quite good, though the guidance could be improved. We were sent to the sauna without any directions, and it wasn't prepared. Wet wood in the restaurant fireplace made the room incredibly smoky. Events like the campfire and ATV ride were badly organized. There are good ingredients here, but no management. Given the setting, I think it should be pet-friendly.

The rooms have a simple design and a perfect view across the water. I also loved the fine dining options at the restaurant. One of my favorite places in Romania.

The kitchen was a real highlight, with some of the best food we've had. Service was personal and attentive, too. Right on Lake Doftana, the boutique hotel sits in a beautiful landscape, and its architecture has a lot of charm and care behind it.

I've been here three times, and I've also visited the restaurant several other times. It's a peaceful, lovely spot not far from Bucarest, and every dish has been great even as the menu has changed over the years. The Wi-Fi used to be pretty bad on my first visit, but they've improved it and it works as it should now. Orange mobile service is still limited or unavailable.

We came by for a drink and a chance to enjoy the setting. It felt like a fairytale, and the service was prompt, friendly without overdoing it, and happy to adapt. We had Hugo’s, a mohijto, beers, and a delicious basil ice cream. I'd love to stay here next time, and we'll definitely come back.
