Hotel Excelsior

We picked this hotel because it was near a hospital, and we’re glad we did. It has a large parking lot behind the building, and the Internet speed was very good. The room was spacious and clean, breakfast had lots of choices, and the staff were very friendly. You can walk to the historic pedestrian area from here. Highly recommended.

The breakfast had loads to choose from, and I also had pizza for dinner. Staff were friendly and quick to help. Our room was big, with a similarly spacious bathroom and a bathtub, and everything was clean and well kept. There’s free private parking in this quiet area, plus a charger for Electric Vehicles. For a 4 star hotel, the price was a bargain. The center of Timisoara is about 15-20 minutes away on foot. I’ll definitely come back.

We arrived late after travelling from Piekary Śląskie (Poland), and the hotel staff stayed up to welcome us and give us food. That kindness really meant a lot. Hotel Excelsior is in a quiet part of the city, but close enough to the center of Timisoara that we could visit attractions without a car. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the food was delicious. Romania is beautiful! I’ll be back. Best regards.

Breakfast had plenty of choice, including grilled vegetables, fruit, different kinds of eggs, coffee and juice. The rooms were clean and bigger than usual, and the hotel has private parking. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the city center. The serious downside was a cleaning lady trying to get into our room at 7am. The key was in the lock, so she couldn’t open it, but she kept trying for several minutes and woke us up. I recommend the hotel, though I probably wouldn’t choose it again for myself.
