The location is handy because it's close to the highway, but the supposedly “secured private” parking was on the street and didn't feel very secure. The hotel is dated, and the Booking photos seem misleading. Our room was very cold, the sheets were poor, and the curtains were too short to cover the whole window, so streetlights shone in at night. The shower hadn't been cleaned. We found a bunch of short hairs on the wall, which was disgusting. Either the shower or toilet was leaking, and the floor got wet.

After this treatment, I had no interest in staying, so I can't say what the rooms are like. The pictures online look at least average, but what I found was grimy and disgusting, and didn't feel safe. Marble was coming loose from the entrance steps, with rubbish and dust everywhere. It had everything you don't want in a hotel. The receptionist was rude when I asked where the advertised “secured car park on site” was. She got angry and asked how I couldn't see it, since she could. I explained that the spot she pointed to beside a bush was on the street and didn't seem private or secure. She then told me to leave the car wherever I found space. I immediately asked to cancel and get a refund, but she curtly said she couldn't help because I'd booked through a platform. Avoid this hotel at all cost!

The cleaning staff were fantastic and very thorough. I accidentally spilled a glass of blueberry juice on the carpet and asked for cleaning products, but they told me not to worry. They took care of it the next morning along with the sheets, and did such an amazing job that I was shocked and impressed. I also liked the older woman at reception, the park and forest beside the hotel, and the roomy, clean paths there where you can get fresh air and relax. The hotel interior is nice, with wide green pillars downstairs, stylish stair rails, clean yellowish walls, and interesting paintings. The hallways to the rooms are very narrow, though, so carrying bags in both hands would mean holding one in front and one behind you. The reception staff seemed completely uninterested, doing little beyond handing over the booked room keys, and the door lock was half broken. Younger receptionists barely spoke English and weren't useful when I needed information or help. The older woman in uniform was the only staff member who spoke well and could guide you while she was at the desk. The parking in front wasn't bad, but sometimes there wasn't enough room when the hotel had more than 30 guests. The restaurant wasn't operating during my stay, so I couldn't get coffee, lunch, or anything else there. I didn't notice any coffee bars, restaurants, grocery shops, or other places to buy things nearby. There's just one very small gas station attached to the right side of the hotel, where you can get coffee during the day or in the morning. All in all, not bad at all for a 3-star hotel.

The rooms were dirty, with cockroaches, and the toilet was clogged. There's no air conditioning, so you'd have to sleep with the terrace door open and hope nobody comes in. The staff were rude and didn't speak English. I'd rather sleep in the car.

Le Baron hotel deserves better care. It seems it must have been a wonderful hotel in the past. I stayed just one night because we had to wait for another flight, and the place has a fairly large lobby with a lovely staircase and railing. The rooms have balconies, fridges, and showers, and were clean. I recommend giving this hotel a look. Timisoara is a nice city, and I'd come back in the future.
