The Danube is nearby, which makes for a great location, but the rooms smell terrible and feel old. Parking is a real problem: it costs 20 lei a day if you can find a space, and the lot is open to everyone, not just hotel guests. One staff member was very rude when I didn’t want to hand over my car key. The staff were terrible.

The beds were the best part, new and great quality. Even the sofa bed was good enough to sleep on. It’s a typical three-star restaurant, and a river-facing room is worth the money. Parking also costs 20 Lei a day. I took off two stars because the AC was inadequate in early June. It only blew air, and the room felt hotter than outside, even though it was 20 degrees at night. I can only imagine how it would be when it’s over 30.

We found pills and other things under the bed, in a really dusty spot. The four-star room also had a bathroom flooding problem, apparently because the floor slopes the wrong way. Apart from that, it’s a great hotel with a lovely view and a very comfortable bed.

The front desk women were really helpful. I needed something printed, and they took care of it straight away. The location is ideal, right on the Danube river walk and beside the excursion companies. Rooms are fairly large, but quite dated, and housekeeping was so-so. Breakfast service was poor. They didn’t clear tables quickly as people left, so arriving a bit later meant there was nowhere to sit unless we shared a table.
