I was driving across the country from England and got hungry all of a sudden. I figured I’d eat at any restaurant around, even if it looked bad, and came across this one. From the outside it seemed like an old, pleasant place with decent food and staff. I was wrong about that. The staff were funny while still taking their jobs seriously, and they made the visit enjoyable. The food tasted like something from a TV show about the best food ever. Thanks to everyone there. I’ll come back when I’m in the country again!

I’ve probably eaten here hundreds of times since it opened, and it’s never let me down. I’ve never had the stomach trouble I’ve had at some other places along this road, either. It’s right on DN2 with plenty of parking, and the service is good. The food is very good, mostly Romanian dishes. I recommend the tripe soup ( ciorba de burta) if you like it, it’s delicious. The restaurant gets quite busy around lunch and later on. Prices feel a bit high for a small town like Urziceni, although they have some “menu of the day” options for lunch at very attractive prices. They have a hotel too, but I haven’t tried it. There aren’t many places like this beside the road along all of DN2.

There was a party happening when we checked in, and the sleep-shattering music kept going until 2 AM despite our repeated requests. Hotel music is supposed to stop by law at 10 PM, but the staff wouldn’t even lower the volume at first and only gave in later. Avoid this place.

The plates were dirty, and the service was the worst I’ve ever had. When I asked the waiter to replace them, he got irritated and said there were “a lot of people,” then told us to leave if something bothered us.
