Hotel Valea Măriei

There's a more up to date section on the other side of the property, with the right amenities. The older part feels stuck in 1970, even though the location has a lot of potential. The rooms haven't been updated in 30 years. Some have a small fridge and some don't, the TVs look like they were new in 1992, and the AC only works if you're lucky. In some rooms, opening the window just brings in heat from the upstairs AC unit. There's no AC in the lobby, and breakfast is really poor. Wi-fi works inside the hotel, though mobile phone reception is poor. In the events tent, there's no Wi-fi or mobile phone reception.

I spent a week there and loved it, it was amazing, especially the purples, if you know, you know.

It was nice outside, and there was plenty to do around the hotel, so I hardly needed to spend time in the room. The rooms were great for the price, and the staff were very hospitable. The hotel was very neat, too. Only downsides were an old shower cabin that didn't work properly and TVs that felt pretty dated.

The menu sounded interesting, but we waited 10 minutes and had to ask the people at the next table for menus. After 40 minutes, we gave up and left. Nobody serving us seemed interested in us, or in clearing the finished plates left by previous visitors on the other half of our table. No meal is worth being treated that way. As we were heading out, we heard a server taking an order at a nearby table respond very impolitely to a woman's complaint about the long wait.
