Pensiunea Casa Elvira

Casa Elvira has beautiful views and grounds, and the food was exceptional. The people there were so hospitable and made sure our needs were met. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were the nicest I’ve had in Romania.

The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the yard and playground are large. The rooms were clean, though a bit too warm for my taste, but it was November. There isn’t really a choice of dishes, though they’ll probably ask what you’d like to eat that day. The menu changes the next day, including breakfast, and all the food was great, with something for vegans too. If you ask nicely, you might get a tour of the cellar with homemade liquor like tzuica, palinka and calvados. Mind your step coming back up 😁

We had one of our best vacations in Romania at Elvira house, staying four nights from Saturday to Wednesday in June 2018. The hosts were very hospitable, the food was very good, and there was lots for family play time, including darts, ping pong and tennis, plus a huge green yard. Weekdays are probably the best time to visit, since weekends can bring many guests and aren’t very quiet, with children visiting and people chatting late at night. The 17 km road to Moldovita is fairly quiet and great for relaxed biking. We rode farther north too. The surroundings are beautiful, and the asphalt is good even for thinner bicycle tires.

We first stayed at Casa Elvira in September 2014, and now we come back regularly to our “Family in Bucovina”! The setting is great, the food fabulous and the hosts amazing. There’s such positive energy here. We love working remotely from this place, resting and recharging whenever we get the chance. Thank you, Oana and Sorin, for everything!
