Alpine Lounge

Such a lovely, clean place. We'd happily come back!

The hosts were so attentive and welcoming, and the mountain scenery is fantastic. We’re staying at Villa Alpine Lounge in Vatra Dornei right now, and it’s spacious, modern, and really comfortable. There’s a sauna and jacuzzi too, which make it feel like a proper treat. It’s peaceful here, yet close to the chairlift and trails. I’d recommend it without hesitation, a well-earned 10!

We won’t be coming back. The cabin has a great location, lovely design, a beautiful view, and two jacuzzis that could have been a real bonus, but the place is badly maintained and the way the problems were handled felt disrespectful to guests. There were ants all over the living room and kitchen, even in the drawers. The TV in one bedroom didn’t work, and the electric curtain covering a whole glass wall was broken, so people on the chairlift or in the courtyard could see into the room if it stayed open. The terrace was rotten and seemed dangerous for children, while the walls, floors, and furniture all showed obvious wear or defects. The outdoor jacuzzi was a big excitement for the kids, but we couldn’t use it. At first the host said they needed to show us how it worked. After we sent videos showing we knew how to turn on the water, someone was sent to fix it, and we were told to wait for the pool to fill. We waited until the second day. When I tried again, after at most 10 liters had flowed, the water stopped completely, including in the toilet. The electricity went out shortly afterward. I spent the last hours there with no water or light and no comfort. I reported it, but nobody came to fix it. They still came a few hours later to hand things over. We’d also been asked to pay upfront; when we raised the issues, we were told we’d get a discount next time. We received neither a tax receipt nor an invoice.

We were three families, six adults and seven children, and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house was warm, clean, and comfortable, and the huge windows made it feel like we were right in nature. Mrs. Cristina, who rented it to us, was kind and even served us champagne 🍾. I was really taken with both the cabin and the scenery. I’d recommend it to anyone.
