The host was very nice, and the rooms were super clean. There’s a fully functional kitchen, plus it’s 5 min from city center and 1 min from ski resort.

I came here after a big storm had knocked out electricity across the whole neighbourhood. That wasn’t a problem at this place, and I could still take a hot shower and turn on the heat. Great place.

We rented the whole place, not just rooms, and it was fine overall. But we really missed having an outdoor terrace with a table and chairs. There were no window screens either, so mosquitoes got in and kept us from sleeping at night.

The villa looks lovely and was clean and tidy, but once inside, the experience was very different. The walls and doors feel like cardboard, so you hear everything, and cooking smells from the ground-floor kitchen travel all the way upstairs. There was just one bathroom for three rooms, and both check-in and check-out took longer than the promised “5 minutes.” What upset me most was that they kept my ID. I paid but got no receipt. Not receiving a tax receipt seems common across the Vatra Dornei resort.
