Avenue Venus

The rooms were just as shown in the photos, clean and roomy enough. Self check-in worked perfectly, and our two rooms, 4 and 5, were in the first villa as you come in. It was quiet inside the villa, though the beach and restaurants are very close, so you do hear noise from there. It wasn't a huge issue since there was air conditioning and the windows blocked enough of it. The cleaner was usually around until 1 or 2. The price for what you get was fairly reasonable, though it could be a little lower. For a weekend, we'd come back. The four-star rating is because it wasn't clear who to contact for help after 2, and the small above-ground pool wasn't clean and could only fit two adults. If you don't have WhatsApp, you might not get the room codes, and communicating with a business over WhatsApp doesn't feel quite right.

The rooms have been renovated and feel spacious. The yard could use more care, and the cleanliness wasn't quite there. In the evening, noise from the nearby terraces gets pretty loud.

Self check-in uses a door code sent to you on wapp. The rooms looked modern and very nice, and were clean. We had fresh towels, liquid soap, and shower gel, though nowhere to hang towels to dry. That wasn't a problem for our one-night stay. The location is close to the beach, but a sign at the entrance would help, since I met several people who weren't sure they'd arrived at the right place.

The location is handy for the beach, restaurants, supermarkets, and shops, and the yard parking is usually shaded by trees. It's a fairly new place, but several shared facilities were neglected: the gazebo was scruffy, and the barbecue and above-ground pool couldn't be used. Room 2 was in very poor shape. The sink wouldn't drain, the bathroom door wouldn't shut, the window was broken, the TV sat too low on the table, and the room was dark. Water was also leaking from the bathroom ceiling. After two days I was moved to room 11, which was okay. The cleaner seemed to spend the day in the gazebo, but I had to ask when rubbish would be taken out and towels changed, and she said it would happen that day. The swing mattresses were sandy and weren't shaken out, and the shared espresso machine was filthy. If I'd had to stay in room 2, I'd give the place only two stars.
