Ibis Styles Venus

The beach is just a five-minute walk away, and the hotel sits in a quiet spot with a garden, playground, and a pool placed centrally for some privacy. Parking was easy, with free and paid choices, though there isn't much nearby dining. Breakfast was fine for the price. The rooms themselves were okay, but sizes varied, and the renovation looked hurried: bathrooms leaked, paint was uneven, and some details felt poorly finished. The bigger problem was cleaning. Some rooms seemed barely wiped down, while others appeared to have been skipped altogether. Dust, marks, and bathrooms that didn't feel fresh made it hard to settle in. The location and facilities have a lot going for them, but the poor cleanliness overshadowed those positives for me.

We got to check in well before the scheduled time, depending on room availability, which was a nice surprise. The price also felt exceptionally low for the Romanian seaside, and this was one of my best value-for-money stays in Romania. The room was roomy, with lots of storage and a generous balcony. It was modern and spotless, with a mini-fridge, hairdryer, air conditioning, a small safe, clean towels and linens, and an extra pillow already there. The pool area was just as clean and well looked after, and there was plenty of parking, which can be hard to find on the Romanian coast. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. I had a fantastic stay at Ibis Styles Venus, 10/10. Can't wait to come back, and I'd absolutely recommend it.

I loved the clean apartment, the pool, and all the plants in the gardens. The pillows were excellent too. The mattress, though, was really uncomfortable. I've slept on better ones in 2-3 star hotels in the countryside, and my back hurt every night. I could've used a topper if one had been available.

The hotel has a lot of potential and is good in many ways, but I think it needs more effort to live up to the Ibis Styles name, particularly from management. We were members, and over our five days the manager(?) kept preparing a welcome letter and amenity that never arrived. She even asked if we preferred red or rosé wine. We honestly felt she was joking with us. Maybe she was trying to learn Greek first. Also, why isn't there a restaurant?
